Description Aleppo Pine (Pinus Halepensis) 10 seeds (#358)
Aleppo Pine (Pinus halepensis) is a fast-growing Mediterranean pine known for its airy crown structure and excellent tolerance to dry, warm climates. It is widely used in coastal landscapes, gardens, and naturalistic plantings.
PLANT APPEARANCE
The tree reaches 10–20 meters in height. The crown is loose and irregular. Needles are long, soft, and light green, arranged in pairs. Cones are elongated and light brown, often remaining on branches for several years. Bark is pale and smooth in youth, becoming slightly fissured with age.
GROWING CONDITIONS
Thrives in full sun and warm, dry locations. Prefers sandy or rocky well-drained soils. Very drought tolerant once established but intolerant of waterlogged soil.
CARE
Water minimally, especially after establishment. Mulching helps regulate soil moisture and temperature. Protect young plants from frost. Pruning is generally light and mainly for form in early growth stages.

GERMINATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place the seeds in a container with tepid water and soak them for 24 hours.
2. Fill small pots with compost. Place one or two pine seeds on top of the compost in each pot, then cover the seeds with a thin layer of sand (5-6 mm / 1/4").
3. Water the sand and compost to add moisture, then place the pots in a warm, sunny location. As the seedlings emerge and grow, the soil needs to remain moist, not wet.
Repot the pine trees into medium-sized pots in the fall. Grow them in the pots for the following season until they are large and strong enough for transplanting into the landscape.
