Description Coriander (Coriandrum Sativum) 200 seeds (#858)

Coriander, Coriandum sativum, is native to southern Europe and the Middle East.
Easy to grow, with unusual and distinctive ferny leaves. Excellent flavour, widly used for Asian dishes and salads. It was used by Romans to preserve meat, and was once used as an aphrodisiac.
Great for pots and containers, slow to bolt.
Can be sown and harvested all year long. Can be sown indoors for an early crop, but may also be sown direct in pre-watered shallow drills outside, once temperatures have increased in late spring. Lightly cover seeds with fine compost or soil. Sow seed every two weeks for a continuous crop throughout summer.
Coriander is in general a good companion plant in the garden, helping to repel aphis and carrot root fly. It grows well with anise, improving the germination rate when the two species are sown together, but it grows badly with fennel, where it acts to reduce the seed yield of the fennel. Coriander also grows particularly well with dill and chervil.
Approximately 200 seeds in 2g packet.

USEFUL INFO
If there is one thing that makes ornamental plant seeds stubbornly refuse to germinate, it is the lack of a cold period. In nature, it is simple: a seed falls to the ground in autumn, spends winter in moisture and low temperatures, and wakes up in sp..
