Description Cornflower (Centaurea Cyanus mix) seeds - 100 grams (#2077)

Cornflower (Centaurea cyanus) is an annual wildflower widely recognized as a symbol of summer. It is valued for its vivid flowers, long blooming period, and exceptional attractiveness to bees and other pollinators. It is ideal for naturalistic gardens, meadow-style plantings, and cut flower arrangements.
PLANT APPEARANCE
The plant grows 40–90 cm tall and develops slender, slightly branched stems. Leaves are narrow and grey-green. Flowers are solitary, bright blue, pink, white, or violet, with finely fringed petals.
GROWING CONDITIONS
Cornflower thrives in full sun. It is undemanding regarding soil and grows well in light, moderately fertile, well-drained soils. Waterlogging should be avoided. Excessive fertilization promotes leaf growth at the expense of flowering.
CARE
This is a very low-maintenance plant. Water only during prolonged dry periods. Regular removal of faded flowers encourages extended blooming. Fertilization is unnecessary.
INTERESTING FACT
Cornflower has long symbolized loyalty, freedom, and simplicity. Once common in grain fields, it is now making a strong comeback in gardens as a consciously chosen natural plant.

USEFUL INFO
If there is one thing that makes ornamental plant seeds stubbornly refuse to germinate, it is the lack of a cold period. In nature, it is simple: a seed falls to the ground in autumn, spends winter in moisture and low temperatures, and wakes up in sp..
