Description Thornless Honeylocust (Gleditsia Triacanthos Inermis) 10 seeds (#220)

Honeylocust thornless form (Gleditsia triacanthos inermis) is a deciduous ornamental tree native to North America. It is appreciated for its soft, open crown structure that provides pleasant dappled shade and for its glossy green leaves turning golden to orange in autumn. This thornless variety is safe and well suited for gardens and public spaces.
PLANT APPEARANCE
The tree typically reaches 10–20 meters. The crown is spreading and airy. Leaves are compound with many small leaflets, bright and glossy. Small greenish flowers appear in late spring. The tree forms decorative curved pods that may remain on branches into winter.
GROWING CONDITIONS
Location: Prefers full sun.
Soil: Thrives in well-drained soil and tolerates poorer conditions.
Moisture: Drought tolerant, though young plants benefit from watering in hot periods.
CARE
Water young plants during drought. Mulch the roots to retain moisture. Prune only to maintain shape or remove damaged branches. Mature trees require minimal care.
INTERESTING FACT
The sweet pulp found inside the pods has historically been used as a natural sweetener.

USEFUL INFO
If there is one thing that makes ornamental plant seeds stubbornly refuse to germinate, it is the lack of a cold period. In nature, it is simple: a seed falls to the ground in autumn, spends winter in moisture and low temperatures, and wakes up in sp..
